According to the new rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC), whoever has studied in class 12 or any section of the Bachelor's degree, has qualified in the national or university level entrance examination. Bachelor's or master's degree in any field of study is preferred.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently released the draft academic guidelines for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. According to UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, the new norms have more flexibility and multidisciplinary learning opportunities.

Depending on the academic and infrastructural facilities, the university can directly admit a limited number of students to the second, third or fourth year of the undergraduate programme and the second year of the postgraduate programme, he added.
